My Dad

I wanted to ask you all to pray for my dad. You may have received our e-mail that he is in the hospital and is needing a triple bypass surgery. The problem is that he has lung problems after many years of smoking. The lung doctor feels that surgery may not be the best option for him. I am leaving on September 1st at 2am headed to the states. I feel like I need to be with him. He has been sick before but I feel very strongly that if I am going, I need to go now. It makes it hard to leave because it just is not possible for us all to go. Air fare as you know is not cheap and 6 people to travel is very expense. That is going to leave Stephen responsible for the children and he even says that he is going to continue their homeschooling. Pray for me and pray for the children and Stephen. Pray that I can be a witness to my dad. He made a profession many years ago but has never shown any fruit in his life.

Thank you!

We just wanted to say thank you to everyone that gave toward the work in Areial. We cannot say thanks enough! Tonight the work was turned back over to the national missionary. We are amazed at all that God has done and pray that many souls will be saved through this work. As you can see from the pictures, the building lacks very little and now that the church no longer has rent to pay, everything that comes in can be applied toward the church and with the possibility of buying the property next door.

This is the outside of the building.

The inside

The lady that is looking toward the camera accepted Jesus as her Savior tonight. What a blessing and what an encouragment to us.

Not only was it the last service but there was also a baby dedication. Stephen challenged this family to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

This and That

HOMESCHOOL
We have been really busy lately and just have not had much time to update on anything. The kids and I have started homeschooling for the year. This year we have 1 in Kindergarten, Benjamin, one in 2nd, Joshua, one in 5th, Hannah, and one in 7th, Philip. We have had a great start. The only problem is that it has been really really hot. So, we are going to go the library tomorrow to do our studying there. The lady at the library assured me that there is no one there in the morning. The good part, they have air-conditioning.

CHURCH
Steve has been busy putting in windows and doors in the church at Areial. He is doing it himself to save the church some money. The national missionary should be returning at the end of this month. We are so thankful for all that God has done in the last 8 months that we have been responsible for this work. The blessings have been amazing!
We are having windows put in the church downtown too. We had the wooden windows taken out and are putting in metal ones. This is because the church kept getting broken into. These windows will give the church more protection from theives. We had a wonderful Father's Day program on Sunday (Sunday was Father's Day here) and Pablo's dad came. Pablo was so excited. Pray for the salvation of his dad and please pray for this work!

ENZO
He is taking a chemotherapy treatment every Thursday. His body is slowly adjusting to the treatments as he had a hard time at first with it. He will continue treatments until December. His family has had a great testimony through all of this. When the oldest son, who is now 9, had this same cancer the family had some extra money to help with expenses. This time they have had to trust completely on God. To hear Jerry, Enzo's dad, give his testimony is such a blessing. Sometimes we look at a miracle is a complete cure. But God has worked miracle after miracle by supplying needs and putting them with the right doctor in the right place.

BLESSINGS
God has been so good to our family. We have had a lot of trials as of late but HE has been faithful to us through them all. He takes far better care of us than we can ourselves. It is a blessing just to be used of Him. Our hearts desire is to be used of Him more and more everyday!

MACEDONIA WORLD BAPTIST MISSIONS, INC (OUR MISSION BOARD)
We have the best mission board! The people at the home office work so hard for all the missionaries on the field and we cannot thank them enough for all they do. They make it so much easier for us. We have a wonderful print shop. They have already sent us 3 boxes of tracts and not only that, we have someone there that handles our prayer letters, Jennifer Cudd. She does an excellent job and we appreciate her hard work so much. Our mission board provides these services without cost to the missionary. The home office raises their support just like we do ours. Their thinking is that if the missionary should live by faith then they should too. The mission board has been losing support. With the down turn of the economy in the states, they have been affected. Pray for Maceodonia World Baptist Missions today! Pray for the needed funds for the daily operations! We know that God is able to supply these needs.

The end of the competition

We had a competition at the church in Areial. The grand prize was a new bike. Points were given for presence, Bible verses, and bringing visitors to church. Wilianne was the winner. She was so excited to have her very own bike.

Happy Birthday Philip

Today Philip turned 12. We love you Philip, you are a sweet boy who desires to serve the Lord. Our prayer for you is that you always stay this way.

This picture is of Philip with his friend Pablo. Pablo comes from a very troubled home. We are praying for the salvation of his dad.
