CHRISTMAS IN ACRE, BRAZIL

As we looked at all the lights in the city, we were reminded by these lights that Jesus is the light of the world. The reason that we celebrate Christmas is because of HIM not because of the presents we might receive but because of the perfect present that God gave to us, Jesus.

The governor´s mansion (which he does not live in) all lit up for Christmas

We were blessed to have a surprise visit by our field director, Robert Smith. The kids enjoyed so much having him here. He was like a grandpa to them for the few days he was here. They especially liked it when he took them for pizza and ice cream.

This year our city went all out for Christmas. The praça (city square) has so many beautiful lights. We were able to go downtown the other night and see them all. At times, it is hard to remember that it is Christmas when it is so very hot, but looking at these lights you almost forget that you are in Brazil.
